How to pitch Visible Body

Later in this blog post, we’ll give you premade email templates you can customize and send, but in the meantime, here is some information that can help when you reach out to others.

What is Visible Body?

Used by over a thousand schools and colleges, Visible Body's 3D models and animations make learning and teaching anatomy, physiology, and biology visual and engaging. Visible Body products advance the way students learn, instructors teach, and healthcare professionals practice.

For more than a decade, Visible Body has been working with educators to create interactive 3D anatomy, physiology, and biology products that give instructors the tools they need to help students excel. Visible Body uses a huge visual library—centered around 3D models, animations, and simulations of important processes—to create innovative course content and study tools such as interactive quizzes, virtual dissections, flashcards, and seamless LMS integration.

Seeing is believing

Here at Visible Body, we believe in the power of hands-on learning and visual representations that break big concepts into bite-size pieces. What better way to explain Visible Body products than having your administrators and colleagues see for themselves?

Our YouTube channel is full of videos showing off our fantastic content. Here are some highlights for you to share!

You can also share stories of student and teacher success, like the video below and this handy recap of a webinar delivered by Richard Mantrana, lead instructor of the medical academy at Southwest Miami Senior High School.

Who should I approach?

In addition to contacting your lead teacher, assistant principal, and principal, you can also reach out on the district level. Many districts have a technology director, director of instructional technology, or similar position that oversees the purchase and implementation of technology like Visible Body.

Where to get funding

Funding opportunities vary widely with each state and sometimes each local area offering different funding programs. Here are some ideas to get you started.

At the school and district level…

  • You can start by looking into STEM initiatives, as many schools have set aside money to further develop STEM programs and get students interested in STEM fields like health sciences and biology.
  • Visible Body products qualify for the textbook funds that every school and district has.
  • Local school foundations are another source that can cover costs, as many communities have nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting their public schools.

There are many different opportunities at the state and national level. Here are just a few of them:

  • Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century, also known as Perkins V, is how many schools adopt Visible Body! Perkins funding provides funding for career and technical education (CTE) programs.
  • The Magnet Schools Assistance Program (MSAP) provides money to magnet schools “to attract a diverse group of students and desegregate public schools.”
  • Title IV provides funds to support well-rounded educational opportunities, safe and healthy students, and effective use of technology.
  • Many states provide “turnaround” grants to underperforming schools. Schools have used these grants to purchase Visible Body products because Visible Body helps facilitate active learning that engages students and appeals to tactile learners.

Templates

We’ve done the work for you and created some sample emails you can send to your colleagues, administrators, and education foundation audiences. Each email includes videos and information about Visible Body, its benefits to students and teachers, and the efficacy of the content and user interfaces.

We invite you to customize these templates, using them as a jumping-off point to discuss how Visible Body can make a mark on your classroom!

For A&P and biology teachers

Hi XX,

I’ve come across a 3D content solution that might be useful for you and your students.

Visible Body produces apps and an LMS (Courseware) featuring 3D and augmented reality human anatomy, physiology, and biology content. Their platform maps to the textbook you are using, and high school teachers nationwide are seeing significant improvements in student engagement & performance—grades are going up and D’s and F’s are decreasing.

Here are a few key product benefits that I’d like to call out. Visible Body will enable you to:

  • host virtual or in-person labs
  • assign interactive homework
  • quiz and grade students
  • offer auto-graded online lab activities
  • customize and annotate 3D models
  • easily share anatomical models with students across platforms—web (PC/Mac), phones, and tablets

In addition, students can download the apps to their mobile device to study anywhere or anytime, with or without wi-fi.

Here’s a three-minute video of the 3D content and LMS!

Would you be open to a quick 30-minute demo with the Visible Body representative? I booked one and was very impressed. After the demo, you could start with a trial to further explore. I will extend the invite to your fellow A&P and Biology teachers as well.

Let me know your thoughts when you can.

Thank you,

XX

For local administrators and curriculum managers

Hi XX,

I’ve come across a 3D content solution that I’d like to begin using in my classroom. I think it would be a great solution for me as well as for my students and my fellow A&P and Biology teachers.

Visible Body produces apps and an LMS (Courseware) featuring visually-stunning deep 3D and augmented reality human anatomy, physiology and biology content. Their platform maps to the textbook I’m using, and teachers are seeing significant improvements in student engagement and performance—grades are going up and D’s and F’s are decreasing.

Here are a few key product benefits. Visible Body will enable me to:

  • host virtual or in-person labs
  • assign interactive homework
  • quiz and grade students
  • offer auto-graded online lab activities
  • customize & annotate 3D models
  • easily share anatomical models with students across platforms—web (PC/Mac), phones, and tablets

In addition, students can download the apps to their mobile device to study anywhere or anytime, with or without wi-fi.

Here’s a three-minute video of the 3D content and LMS!

I’m starting with a free trial through one of their representatives, but would like to explore purchasing Visible Body for my students. Are there technology funds that I might have access to this year?

Let me know when we can discuss further.

Thank you,

I’m starting with a free trial through one of their representatives, but would like to explore purchasing for my students. Are there specific grants or funds that the Health Science teams here at the high school can potentially tap into for this?

Let me know when we can discuss further.

Thank you,
