Physiology & Pathology

An interactive guide to core processes and common diseases of the human body. Discover what happens when physiology fails. Work through interactive lessons that explain the step-by-step breakdown of common cardiovascular, renal, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and musculoskeletal processes.

Here is a 2 minute overview you can share with potential customers.

Here’s a shorter version that’s 30 seconds.

The two most distinguishing features in Physiology & Pathology are the beating heart and the lessons functionality.

The beating heart is a new animated view (Like muscle actions or the disarticulated skull) which can be controlled by the user to display all kinds of information. this includes:

  • Speeding up or slowing down the heart rate.
  • Turning on/off arrows to show blood flow direction.
  • Turning on/off the blood to better see the muscle movements.
  • Turning on/off the nerve impulses to see the electrical action through the heart

Read this article for a full tutorial with video of the new beating heart feature.

Here’s a blog where you can see how the beating heart can be used to teach.

To market the beating heart feature, you can use this 30 second promo video.

Students and professors can access the beating heart lab activity sheet here.

Lessons are a new way of organizing views much like a tour. We've created a set of 50 curated lessons which take users through 48 different physiological processes and 57 pathologies.

Read this article for a full tutorial with video outlining the lessons feature.

To market the lessons feature, you can use this 30 second promo video on polycystic kidney disease.

Physiology & Pathology covers 48 physiology topics and 57 conditions, with 50 lessons, more than 5,800 3D models, 38 animations, 16 illustrations, and 26 quizzes. The current release of Physiology & Pathology includes the following units: Cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, gastrointestinal, and musculoskeletal.

Courseware

More than an LMS, Courseware is a web-based teaching and learning platform loaded with Visible Body's award-winning content. Instructors use it to deliver course assignments and assign quizzes, but also to manage grades, transform lecture presentations to include 3D models and animations, and expand and enhance anatomy lab dissections.

The features of Courseware

  • Here is a presentation by a VB rep to an instructor showing the Courseware content and features
  • Instructors can use the tours feature or assignments to create a series of interactive presentations that can replace a lecture.
  • Here is a demo on how to use VB Courseware to create homework on the urinary system and the common condition, kidney stones. The demo shows how instructors can leverage content from the expansive database of 3D models, animations, interactive bite-sized lessons, and quizzes to create a series of homework assignments, labs, quizzes that present and assess learning.
  • Here's a video of an instructor at UIC demonstrating 2 interactive dissection quiz questions he assigned students.
  • Here is the support article on how to search the quiz bank or make your own quizzes and questions.
  • Here is the support article on using the grade book with a video walkthrough.
