Visible Body's Human Anatomy Atlas 2018 Recognized with Gold Digital Health Award

December 8, 2017 Visible Body today announced that its flagship 3D reference and educational app Human Anatomy Atlas 2018 received a gold medal and top honors from the Fall 2017 Digital Health Awards.

This year marks the 19th annual awarding of the Digital Health Awards, honoring the world's best digital health resources. Organized by the Health Information Resource Center, the awards recognize high-quality digital health resources for consumers and health professionals.

A panel of 26 experts in digital health media served as judges to select the winners from nearly 400 entries. Entries were evaluated for content and for design, creativity, and user experience. Out of over 200 award winners, only 12 were awarded the top Gold designation. Human Anatomy Atlas 2018 won the Gold in the category of Mobile Application Tool/Resource.

"We are delighted to receive a Gold Digital Health Award, and humbled to be judged one of the best among so many innovative companies and organizations," said Andrew Bowditch, CEO of Visible Body. Other gold medal winners include Kaiser Permanente, Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, AO Foundation, and Orion Health.

Human Anatomy Atlas 2018 includes 3D models of over 6000 anatomical structures comprising all body systems and both male and female models; microanatomy of tissue and special organs; rotatable moving 3D models demonstrating muscle movements; and side-by-side comparisons of modeled cross sections with cadaver and diagnostic images.

The app also includes in-depth, encyclopedic anatomy reference content in seven languages, including definitions, pronunciations, and Latin names for all structures. A 1,000+ question test bank allows for quizzing and improving anatomy mastery. The new augmented reality functionality (available on ARKit supported iOS devices and soon available on ARCore supported Android devices) turns any room into an anatomy lab with the app's interactive 3D visuals.

Visible Body apps are available to consumers on all major mobile platforms. Site licenses and seat licenses are also available for medical libraries, universities, hospitals, and medical device and pharmaceutical companies.
