Visible Body® today released Human Anatomy Atlas 2017 Edition

July 28, 2016 — Visible Body®, the developer of an award-winning suite of 3D anatomy software, today released Human Anatomy Atlas 2017 Edition, a major new release for the iPad and iPhone. The app is currently featured by Apple on the App Store’s home page in a number of countries.

Human Anatomy Atlas 2017 Edition leverages Apple’s latest iPad and iPhone technology to offer a wealth of 3D visuals and encyclopedic content on devices that health care professionals and students have at the ready throughout their day. The app introduces groundbreaking cross-section models that can be viewed side by side with MRI scans and cadaver images. Also included are 3D moving models of muscles and bones, as well as animations showing physiological processes. All the content in the app is in a user interface that facilitates quick browsing and includes a fast search tool. The app is available in seven languages.

Five years ago, Visible Body introduced the first 3D anatomy iPad app, introducing the world to the future of mobile medical visualization. Human Anatomy Atlas 2017 Edition is another big leap forward in content and functionality. "What we can offer through Apple’s latest mobile technology is changing so quickly and the Visible Body team does a phenomenal job working with professors, physicians, medical students, and other customers to produce products that look beautiful, work seamlessly, and facilitate learning and teaching human anatomy," said Visible Body CEO Andrew Bowditch. "Apple reviews thousands of apps a week and I think it says so much that it is featuring Human Anatomy Atlas 2017 Edition on the App Store’s home page as one of the "New apps we love"."

Human Anatomy Atlas 2017 Edition is available in English, French, Spanish, Japanese, Italian, German, and Simplified Chinese on the iPhone 5s or later, iPad Pro, iPad Air, and iPad Mini 2 or later. With the iPad/iPhone version released, Visible Body is now making development plans to create Human Anatomy Atlas 2017 Edition for other platforms, including Android, PCs, Macs, zSpace, and institutional site licenses.
