Newton, MA—January 2016—Visible Body, the company behind many award-winning and best-selling anatomy and physiology apps, today unveiled its innovative Visible Learn software platform that transforms the way students learn highly visual content.
Visible Learn seamlessly integrates text, illustrations, animations, quizzes, and interactive 3D models to create an immersive and engaging student experience. Traditional publishers can now license Visible Learn’s platform to transform printed textbook bestsellers into state-of-the-art titles available for today’s students on any device or computer.
"Our history is in education and we see our future there too;' remarked Visible Body's CEO Andrew Bowditch. "When we look at how traditional publishers have repurposed their content for today's mobile world, we see a lot of flat hyperlinked texts and clunky interfaces. We're pleased to offer publishers a solution that brings their outstanding content to life for this generation of students.”
The first title on the new platform is a re-release of Visible Body's own Anatomy & Physiology, used in universities and high schools and featuring interactive 30 anatomy models and physiology animations. "Anatomy & Physiology on the new Visible Learn platform was released last week and immediately became one of the top-selling apps on the iTunes medical store;' said Bowditch, adding that the next release will be by a leading educational publisher that plans to use the Visible Learn platform for several titles in its catalog.
The team at Visible Body previously produced print and accompanying software for the world's largest textbook publishers, including McGraw Hill, Pearson, and Houghton Mifflin.
"With the development of the on line gaming world's 30 immersive experiences as well as the explosion of mobile, we leveraged our medical visualization and software expertise to release our own products;' said Bowditch. "We now have years of experience in this field and millions of satisfied users. A big growth opportunity for us is to license our expertise to other publishers producing excellent and time-tested content, yet missing a huge opportunity to deliver it the way students want and expect it.”
Visible Body's suite of mobile, desktop, and site license products are used by healthcare professionals across the globe and in six languages. The catalog is sold directly to consumers at www.visiblebody.com and through Apple's iTunes and Mac App Stores, Google Play, and Microsoft's Windows Store.
